amite river la::Tubing down the amite river was one of the favorite activities for the summer when i was growing up, and it holds fond memories for me.
Tubing is a wonderful activity for large or small groups, and of course, families too!
Tube rental prices pays for parking and the ride up river where you put your tube in the water and start the journey floating down the amite river.
The gift shop contains most things necessary in case you forget to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, ice, or a towel.
Tiki tubing also offers tshirts and caps in the gift shop.
The float trip down the amite river takes approximately four hours, but longer if you stop at any of the numerous sand bars along the way, or decide to take a little dip in the river.
The sand bars offer an excellent place to stop and have a picnic lunch.
The scenery along the amite is nice and tranquil with a little bit of shade from the trees along the banks of the river.
The float trip down the river is recommended for all people who know how to swim.
All rivers have currents, but the section of the amite where the float trip route is normally stays 24 feet in depth.
Tiki tubing also does not allow any outside tubes to be brought in.
They accept all major credit cards and are open seven days a week starting at 8:00 am.
The last bus taking floaters upriver leaves at 3:00 pm.
As always, your comments are welcome, especially any tips for visitors!
Get in some last minute summer fun before school starts!
